Volunteer Project Wexford Sep '07

Sep 10th to 14th: Join Conservation Services in a 5-day residential project fencing off an inland sand dune in Wexford .

Conservation Services will lead a team of volunteers in a Special Area of Conservation on behalf of the National Parks and Wildlife Services  in Wexford to fence off areas of an inland sand dune.

General information for volunteers:

  • Communal  accommodation will be provided to all volunteers free of charge in Carne Holiday Centre.
  • We will provide safety equipment, work-related insurance and safety talks.
  • We will also provide transport to the site (ex Dublin).
  • Volunteers chip in together for food.

Although there is no charge for the project we do look for guarantees of commitment before the project as numbers are limited and interest is high. (This is normally in the form of a small deposit that is returned on the first day of the project and so can be used for food etc.Other possibilities exist.)

The things you need to bring: Working clothes, Sturdy Shoes, Rain gear. Sleeping bag and pillow and personal hygiene gear. There will be a few social outings to local attractions during the week. So some good clothes would be an idea.

Interested volunteers should contact Andy at andy@conservationservices.ie
