Sand Ladders

Constructed of treated pine board, hot dipped galvanised chain and stainless steel marine grade bolts, the main aim of the sand ladder is to channel all beach traffic on to the one wooden walkway.

This

  • Helps prevent the vegetation being trampled
  • Prevents displacement of sand and creation of sand blowouts
  • Enables less mobile people access the beach

Sand Ladder Construction

The preparation of the sand ladder is carried out in the Conservation Services workshop. The construction is done on site, either with the help of a community group or by Conservation Services. Generally, we can install 100+ meters of ladder per day. The process of site inspection and measuring to construction takes about a month.
