These large 3-bay composters (6mtrs x 2 mtrs) are ideal for a community, tidy towns group, allotment group or school to use to compost their waste. There is also an option to have one of the bays as a leaf composter.
Description The Community Composter is constructed with pressure treated timber, with a corrugated "laserlite" roof to keep off rain and heat the composting material and a perforated P.V.C pipe to get air into the centre of the compost material. It has 2 half doors at the front of each bay of the composter for easy loading; slotted open sides for more air, 6 meters long ( overall length) x 2 meters wide x 2 meters high.( each bay is 2m x 2m x 2m).
This type of composter is the way forward in composting. It is constructed in a way that the 3 essential elements of composting are met: heat, air and micro organisms. The roof encourages heat, the centre pipe gives air and the bottomless bin encourages worms and other microbes to breakdown the organic waste.
Each bay has a capacity of at least 6000 litres, giving you an overall capacity of close to 20000 litres. (This is equivalent to over 30 large 600-litre plastic compost bins!)
